In January of 2008, we had to make a quick decision to buy this newly built house or lose it to the next buyer on the list. This was the start of the housing crisis, and I was due to retire in June of that year.

The original price for the home had been $310,000 the previous August. It was selling for $60,000 less on the day we agreed to purchase the property.
Ten years later we were certainly glad we made the move from Las Vegas to the Treasure Valley of Idaho. There are four seasons up here, and while we are not crazy about winter, the other three seasons easily make up for it.
